The Proxim/Orinoco AP-600 Access Point is an Enterprise-class IEEE 802.11a
Wi-Fi compliant 54 Mbit/s wireless Access Point that operates on the
license-free 5 GHz band. Provides highly secure 802.1x-based WLAN security
with auto key management, using an efficient encryption key rotation scheme.
The AP-600 offers Radius-based access control, and all the performance and
security and management features of enterprise-class solutions. The AP-600
is a single radio that is upgradeable to any wireless 802.11 standard . It
features a built-in 128
WEP WLAN Card. The WLAN inside card has an antenna connector to allow for
external antenna and amplifiers, this makes it ideal for use by ISPs to
offer high-speed Internet access to customers in single channel WIPOP base
stations. The AP-600 is interoperable with other manufacturers' 802.11
Wi-FiT compliant equipment, such as our EtherAnt II and USB-Ant.
