frozen connection after time period (variable) on blueyonder

Has anyone had a problem on blueyonder of the connection freezing, can't get
to any website until both the PC (has happened both with W98 and XP) and
cable modem are reset.

It usually happens after a few hours of down/uploading on a p2p connection
(specifically bittorrent).

Does BY have a policy of freezing connections if they down/upload so much in
a period of time?

Hi

No, Blueyonder do not do anything to your connection. - it's your p2p
program that's doing it.

The problem is that Bittorrent clients creat too many connections for your
system to handle. Have a look in the bittorrent client settings and see if
you can limit the number of connections the client make, if not then I
suggest you get another client.

There is the unofficial bit torrent experimental client patch that you
can install after official one, that lets you limit the number of
connections and up and down speeds.

Make sure you have the latest drivers for you network card because limiting
the number connections does not always work. Some NIC simply can't take the
number of connections being pumped through it, doesn't matter what you do.
In those extreme cases it may be necessary to change your NIC entirely for a
different brand.

I didn't know that a NIC was even aware of what protocol was in use. I
thought they worked down in the physical OSI layer and were unconcerned
about such things.

It's normally a bad driver issue, especially if you are talking about
bitorrent
