Fried Efficient 5861?

I have one of those BT badged Efficient 5861 4-port routers and I think
it gave up the ghost a couple of days ago after 7 months of reliable
service. Now the PWR LED flashes constantly and all other LEDs are off.
It doesn't seem to communicate with the PC or the ADSL line in any way.
Suspiciously enough, the router is completely cold, while normally it
gets really hot. I tried resetting it, and powering it on/off but nothing
changes. Attempting to access it through the web and Console Manager
interfaces fails. My guess is some circuit is fried beyond repair, in
which case I'll get myself one of those cheap ebuyer jobs, but I'm asking
here just in case someone has encountered (and solved) the same problem.
Do you think using a console cable and/or trying to flush the firmware
would make any difference? (I don't see how though since the router
doesn't respond to Configuration Manager).

Damn! It was a nice router

Update:
My Ethernet seems to be playing up. I borrowed a 1-port Ethernet/USB
Conexant and the Ethernet connection to 10.0.0.2 fails, while the USB
interface and the ADSL connection work. Also, the yellow LED on the
Ethernet card is permanently on. IIRC it was flashing. If it is the
Ethernet I suppose it's good news because it is cheap to replace.
However, in that case I can't explain the rest of the symptoms (i.e. no
ADSL LED activity on Efficient and the lack of heat). Any ideas?

TIA

If you do a google search on it and include the word power, you will
find it's a fairly common occurence with these for the power supply to
give up.

Looks like the power supply is gone. New ones are 25 quid.

My 5861 is seemingly alive but dead :-(( It syncs ok but will not
allow traffic to/from the internet. It has the same settings as a
working 5861. I tried a USB Speedtouch which works with my
connection. So I haven't a clue as to the problem. Shane as I also
liked this router which has performed for around two years without
problem.

For replacement power supply:-

Thanks to both of you. We all seem to agree it is the PSU. A google
indeed revealed many similar cases, as well as the incredible
<http://tinyurl.com/yu45d>. I'll order mine now and I hope it works.
Well, at least the replacement PSU is supposed to be an improved version.
