Hi guys
Forgot to ask if anyone has had this little problem...
When logging on to a pc (win98se) under a domain (NT4), for some reason
after you get through the login script, drive mappings, etc., when windows
comes up and the system is loading things in - system tray stuff i.e.
antivirus,
sound, schedule, etc. - the system freezes.
Sometimes (rarely), it'll take a little while and then carry on.
Other times (often) you have to Ctrl-Alt-Del it and wait a few seconds to
bring up the
task manager (one of the tasks will tell you that it is 'not responding')
but you
close task manager without 'End Task'ing anything, it carries on fine.
Sometimes (rarely) it'll go through without a problem.
This isn't just one pc, but all of them.
I'm having a guess that somehow I've dabbled to much with the group policy
file
(config.pol) and will probably need to make a completely new one.
I've been trying to learn about the adm templates but because some of the
default
adm files repeat things, its messing it all up - *trying* to learn the
scripting
process, only time is my enemy (as usual) so not getting anywhere fast.
If anyone could help suggest anything, I'd be greatful.
Many thanks,
Nathan
