Free Wifi hotspots - how do I find?

Iknow there are free WiFi hotspots about but can anyone point me to a
good
source of information on what is available.
In usa many individuals have left a public access port for internet
access
on their wireless networks. These work well and cost nothing. Will
this
come to uk?

I found two totally free hotspots locally. One in a pub - hic! Went
as smooth as silk. Thanks to everyone out there that provides free
hotspots - keep it up and s*d the big, expensive commercial sites.
