....and therefore hardly "free" (per subject line).

There are plenty of 0845 ISPs around, and you don't have to fake
someone's login: aceinternet.co.uk is the one I use from my mobile, for
instance.

To avoid confusion when I said free I meant there is no fee for using this
service like an monthly charge from the ISP. Also you don't have to sign up
to anything or keep using it within a certain period.

To ensure people were not misled I put in the fact the "calls" were
chargeable and also stated it was handy as a backup. This is not a fake but
a genuine dial up and as most now have broadband it is always good to have a
plan B just incase.

Well, if your with Blueyonder (in the UK), you can use your main broadband
username/password on their dialup service (179 from a BY phone, can't remember
the number from a none BY phone) - if you loose BB connection.

Maybe the same with NTL (UK) too.

Just thought I'd mention it.

What about if you loose BB connection?

Plusnet do this too.
