France switching to 2.5Gbit up / 1.2Gb down broadband

Vive la French!
Down with BT$!
Off with their heads!
je demand Off with BT$'s heads right now!
After years of foot dragging, BT$ still can't provide
a world class service and its time
they were broken up and sold in bits to those who can.

While the French offer is definitely for some selected few, my friend
in Italy has an uncapped, up to 20 MB connection in a little
microscopic backwater town (and apparently that speed is available
from most exchanges in Italy).

It peeves me that our country is falling behind and denying the
evidence.

They should have unbundled their monopoly on
the ducts, then providers could pull in fibre.
Until wireless access points become available
fibre is the way to get Gbit speeds.
The top brass at BT are probably more interested in their,
remuneration, pensions and golf, than embracing
emerging technology.
