Hoping some Guru out there can help me. Have an ME
machine that has suddenly quit seeing any web sites
unless you know and use the IP# in the address bar. It
will see any other machines on the network, but not on
the internet.

DNS is set to automatic like the other machines. I've
used several diffrent routers. DHCP has always been
enabled on any of the routers used. All other machines
work fine.

My other ME machine has had no similer problem, however
it was upgraded from 98SE.

I've even tried connecting the problem machine directly
to the modem and recongiuring to no avail.

Please help!

This could be a problem with your ISP's DNS servers. With the aftermath of the
Verisign 'takeover' to deal with, some DNS servers have been striggling to feed your
computer with the right IP lookup for the site you want to visit.

Certainly with my ISP DNS has been rather flaky ever since. People try to put blame
on the ISP or on Windows/Microsoft but if this is the case then it's not really their
fault.

Could suggest trying external DNS servers? http://support.open-rsc.org/.servers/ for
more info.
