I moaned to D-Link tech support as I use a DSL-300G+ modem and DI-624
router.
I sent one of my DI-624 router logs to D-Link tech support showing the 30
sec DHCP request problem.
Their reply is as below :-

We have had quite a bit of this with customer using this equipment with
Virgin internet.
Even if you do not use them, it could be a good idea to speak with your ISP
and get them to check the DHCP status, why the leases are so short. You can
also try updating the firmware from:
ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk/pub/broadband/
If this does not help you may wish to contact us at one of our toll free
numbers between 0800 and 2000 Monday thru Friday:

So far, I can't see it being an ISP problem [PIPEX] (I could be wrong - I
have been known to be!). I'm reluctant to reflash the modem 'cos I can't
find out what the new firmware "fixes", and at least its still working :-)
