When I installed the MS Broadband utility, it instructs
to disable any firewall SW. I assumed since the MN-700
is a HW firewall, that the SW firewall is no longer
needed. Is the disabling of the firewall ment to be
permenant or just for the installation process?

yes...and no. Since you have an HW firewall in MN-700,
you don't really need a SW. However, alot of people
(like myself) keep one up in the event of a laps in
sercurity (or judgement). Just re-up your WinXP
firewall. The SP-2 coming out next month for WinXP
includes a super-enhanced firewall, so stay-tuned.

Thanks much. I've been using McAffees, which I found
kind of handy. Do you think it'd be a problems with the
MN-700? Do you recomend the WinXP firewall over
McAffee? I've found the pop-up anouncements with McAfee
real handy.
