Firewall Suggestion

Can anyone give me the best option from these few - I'm having great
problems setting up my PC and any kind of firewall due to ICS. Either I set
security to zero and have access to LAN and web, or I set it to medium or
high, get access to web (with glitches) and no LAN access. HELP!

1) ICS gateway firewall only
2) Firewall on all computers
3) Firewall on all but gateway.

Cheers
James

If you're using ICS on your gateway PC, that PC is the only one that needs
any form of additional protection. Whether it be hardware (router with
firewall) or software (firewall) it needs some sort of protection since the
gateway PC is directly exposed to the Internet. The client PCs, if used
intelligently, should need no firewall software on them.

If you use the free version of ZoneAlarm on an ICS gateway computer,
set the Internet Zone Security to Med. and set the Trusted Zone
Security to Low.

Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group

Thanks guys, I figured that there wasnt really a need for the firewall on
anything other than the gateway but I wasnt confident enough with my
thoughts Thought it best to check with those in the know!

Thanks again,
James
