I'm trying to create multiple FTP sites using multiple ports (5877,5878)
on WIN 2k3 Ent. (SP1, latest patches) with one IP Address.

It works fine without windows firewall.
However if I turn on windows firewall, it doesn't work at all.

I already added the ports (5877,5878) to the Windows Firewall exception
list.
Even when I tested 21 port, it still works fine in same environment.

example)

ftp.site1.com port : 5877 => X
ftp.site2.com port : 5878 => X
ftp.site3.com port: 21 => O

How can I create multiple FTP sites using multiple ports with Windows
Firewall?
I would be grateful if someone can help me.

Aron

FTP is a "complex protocol". The ports you are dealing with are only the
initial connection ports. Beyond that FTP has *tons* of ports and they are
*random*.

How the FTP protocol Challenges Firewall Security

The Windows Firewall is probably not capable of compensating for that when
FTP is not running "standard".

Run them all on the standard Port and use differnt IP#s instead.
....or just stop using the Windows Firewall.
