Finding DNS servers for Virginmedia in DG834G?

I need to know what the DNS servers are for Virginmedia (ex NTL). The
router is set up to get the DNS servers automatically, but that is no good
as I need to know what they are. Any ideas how I can find out what they
are, either from the router or from within Windows XP Pro? Thanks a lot.

When you log into your DG834G router with a browser you should first reach
the Router Status page and details of the Domain Name Servers should be
displayed in the ADSL Port section. What are you seeing there?

Why do you need to know?

If you need some devices to have permanent addresses, the simplest method is
to use the Address Reservation feature (under Advanced->LAN IP Setup) and
set them to use DHCP.

For practically any domestic router, if you cannot or don't want to use DHCP
for some devices, but need DNS service, it is normally sufficient to specify
the router's LAN IP address, ie the same as the default gateway.

Both of these methods have the advantage that in the unlikely event of the
server addresses changing, no per-machine changes are needed.

My DG834G matches Tony's description: first page, under "ADSL Port".

You can see the DNS server addresses used by Windows XP by opening a command
prompt and typing "ipconfig /all" (without the quotes) followed by return.

I want to know because I need to manually set up DNS details into a PS3. I
have tested the unit here using my own DNS details and the unit works fine,
but the person who owns the PS3 was unsure about their own DNS details and
how to find them. They have a DG834G and I suggested they look in there for
the settings but they said they couldn't find any for DNS. They should have
had a better look I guess.... Thanks a lot to all.....

For a DG834G just enter the IP address of the router as the DNS server
- 192.168.0.1

wouldn't know how to deal with terrorists.
