There are several machines, and they connect with each other via TCP/IP.

Please design an algorithm to find out which machine is the administrator.

ps: 1 all the machines run the same services
2 there is not any profile to tell you which is the administrator one.

Any solutions?

thanks advanced

Floor one of them with a ping flood, if someone shows up at your
desk with a baseball bat, he is the administrator.

Ah. So-called "developers" who cannot be bothered to skim an
O'Reilly book, let alone read an RFC. ... People who react to the comment,

That looks a heck of a lot like a homework question.

How about you do your homework on your own and learn something from doing
so? Having the answer handed to you here is not doing you any favors. If
you cannot figure this out given the information you have learned in
class or in the materials handed to you for study then you are in the
wrong field of study. Perhaps you should go into art or music or drop out
and work as a clerk in a retail store ... the options are virtually
endless.

The response was gently suggesting you do your own homework.

He pointed out that the administrator is a human being, not one of the
servers. The admin is supposed to feel responsible about the
installation. Go and ask him.
