I know very little about sbs2003, what I am trying to find is the
ip address of our router & high speed modom & two printers.
I Know what they are to go to them manual but in
the leased ip address section of the DHCP it does not show them.
Is this because I have assigned an address manual?
How do I get it to show up in the leased ip address?

Hello Alex_2,

If the printers are network printers, you should find them on the server,
which holds the printer queues. And if none from the workstations servers
is configured witht the default gateway on the NIC, you have to go to the
router itself.

Do you have internet connection in that network? Then do a "tracert www.microsoft.com"
without the quotes and it will show you the way with all known routers including
the Default gateway which will be the first, so yours.

Best regards

Note that although this question isn't related to SBS, it's best to post SBS
questions in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs as SBS frequently does
things differently.

Yes.

In addition to Meinholf's reply,

Your router should not have a dynamic address (in fact, it really can't) and
you need to set it manually - put a p-touch label or similar on it, and keep
track of your static addresses manually. You should not have many statics.

Instead of setting static IPs on printers, use DHCP reservations -so your
printer, which has a specific MAC address, always gets the same IP address
on the network.

In addition to Meinolf and Lanwench's helpful responses, I just want to
point out your router is normally your machine's gateway address in IP
properties. You can find that by doing an ipconfig. The router should ALWAYS
be a statically configured IP. The DHCP server ONLY shows what IPs it leased
out. You will not find statically configured machines.
