Apparently the MSBN Brodband Installation disk software
got in the way and stomped all over things. I had
originally used the CD supplied with my MN-700 & MN-720
and had things working albeit very sporadically. I solved
my wired network problems by replacing the mn-700 with a
Linksys wireless.
Here's what I did to get WPA-PSK-TKIP to work on my laptop:
1. uninstalled all MSBN Software.
2. UNinstalled the MN-700 Addapter (via device manager)
3. Removed hotfix Q815485 via Add/Remove programs.
4. Reinstalled MN-700 Adapter using MSBN CD and got the
adapter working again using WEP
5. Used Microsoft Update and reapplied all patches that
had been removed as a result of removing Q815485.
6. Rebooted system.
7. Configured WPA-PSK-TKIP as described in
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/e.../columns/bowma
n/03july28.asp
I was immediately connected to my LAN and able to access
the internet.
Thanks for the help ....
