I found a REALLY interesting Linux driver for Broadcom 802.11g .
It's not exactly a driver, but a "Driverloader" using the Windows .SYS file.
It works perfectly for my Linksys 802.11g card !!!

That *is* very interesting. Something that many people would like is a
card/driver that works with HostAP http://hostap.epitest.fi/

THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT! TO USE THE DRIVERLOADER, YOU HAVE TO PURCHASE A
LICENSE FOR $14.95, AND THE PERSON WHO POSTED THIS MESSAGE IS A SHAMELESS
SPAMMER.

There is NO EXCUSE for this kind of fraud in a Linux newsgroup. It is
perfectly clear that the disgusting parasites who occupy the gutters of the
world now know there are enough Linux users available to try to screw them
and turn Linux into Windows by a gradual process of attrition.

Lying sack of shit.

Odd then that what the web site actually says is:

"DriverLoader packages can be downloaded from Linuxant's web site at no
cost*."

"* Linuxant is happy to provide free trial DriverLoader licenses, while
discussions
are under way with hardware vendors to finance development costs. Linuxant
hopes
that DriverLoader will remain free for end-users. "

Yeah, nicely worded. You do realize, don't you, that it is a lie from top to
bottom? You have to actually go through trying to acquire the product, as I
just did, to discover the truth. They want you to fill out an account form,
complete with e-mail address, then you supposedly get a temporary license,
after which it's pay-up time. I obviously never moved beyond the request
for an e-mail address.

I just find it depressing that the carpetbaggers have begun to arrive in
force here in Linux-land. They have already turned the Internet into an
open-air exhibition of all the really disgusting human traits.

No wonder there's been a big drop-off in UFO sightings. Supposedly one of
the super-intelligent aliens logged onto the Internet. Hours later his
compatriots found him in a vegetable state. The fact that he was a
vegetable to begin with isn't the point.

I'm just getting sick of this idea of marketing as a hot new replacement for
religion -- but worse in every way. After all, the Jehovah's Witnesses
would finally leave your stoop, after getting hoarse from trying to
gang-save you. Marketers, forget it. They make Komodo dragons seem like
field mice.

That's only if you click on the "Free Trial" button. If you click on the
"Download" link, you will bypass the registration and go to their license
page. After clicking the "Agree" link you then go to the download page
where you can choose a distribution-specific binary, or a generic source
package in rpm, deb, or tarball format.

Yes! I did exactly that. Here's what happened:

1. Downloaded the generic RPM, the one that works on most systems.

2. Installed it on the target laptop.

3. Ran the built-in Web page that completes the installation.

4. Followed the instructions to locate the Windows INF and SYS files from
the Linksys installation disk (for my Linksys WPC54G).

5. Followed the instructions to plug in the target PCMCIA card.

6. Oversaw the detection of the driver and the card.

7. THEN, as the driver was activated for the first time, an announcement
appeared on the screen demanding that I return to the Linuxconf site to
acquire a valid "license".

8. I returned to the Linuxconf site and discovered I had to create an
account in order to get the short-term license, and that the license would
be delivered to a valid e-mail address only, and it would expire in 30
days.

Miserable parasites.

Thanks a lot for calling me a shameless spammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just had problems with my linksys card and finally find a way to
make it works.
A lot of persons on this forum seem to have the same problem, so I
post this message, and get this answer!!! I'm really, really insulted
by your reaction.

My conclusion is:

- For the moment, I can use my WiFi card for free, Im really happy
about that!!

- I dont care about your Linux """ Philisophy""", I just want my PC to
work perfectly. That's it! So use the driverloader or not .... it's
your choice, but don't insult me please!!!

- you Linux's guys have a really big problem : you make me think about
extremist communists!

Zia- Any reactions : (E-Mail Removed) and Im not A SPAMMER
