Hi

Just got BB today (£19.99 x 12 months from freeserve)

All working fine - I have NO filter plugged into my tel socket used only by
my PC

Is this correct. I have put filters on all extensions that have a phone but
just wanted to confirm one isn't needed for the BB connection

This is correct! Microfilters with an "ADSL connection" provide this by
straight through wiring anyway.

Brian is correct

Some circuit descriptions talk of a high pass filter to the ADSL port and a
low pass filter to the telephone port. That makes sense in theory, but in
practice all the filters I have examined so far have only the low pass
filter, and adsl socket is connected directly to the line.
I have enjoyed many an argument over this point!

Normally yes but there have been times when a filter is needed for the modem
as well, if you go back over the last month or so there was one occasion
reported then.

Personally for the price of a filter I'd fit one just to be on the safe
side..

(Waits patiently for the flames to be fired).....

knowing that the ADSL connection is supposed to be a pass through I
would only fit one if everything else had failed to get it to work.
