Anyone know of any useful fileshare or folder share managers.

I'm using XP home, the administrator tool, Computer Management, Shared
Folders does not appear to give any control, it merely lets you view
shared folders etc.

The file sharing functions you get with XP are adequate in most cases.
If you want more advanced options you need to make sure that 'simple
file sharing' is turned off. Go to My Computer> Tools> Folder
Options>View... then scroll to the bottom and deselect 'use simple file
sharing'

This might help

Initial quick look and that option does not appear though I've
definitely seen it somewhere.

I am an administrator user.

It's in Pro, not sure it's in Home. I'm not convinced it's easy to do
with Home, which appears to be crippled wrt access control.

Haven't had a chance to look yet, but can you use CACLS from the
command prompt in Home? (It's available in Pro).

Yes it ran, thanks for the suggestion, I'll have a look at the
commands and see if I can get my head round them.
