Can anyone tell me if its possible that when my file sevrer collects files
from my xp client workstations target directory.( unc share )
That these transfer witch can increase to many Gb of data, cause of many jpg
being transferd, can cause the file servers to think its has a SYN ATTACK.
performance of these transfers is very poor afther 60 min

Hi jimi,

Not sure about the SYN attack. Just suggesting robocopy to collect files
from your XP machines. That way you only copy changed / new files. Or better
still, I use it to mirror source to target. Its in the Windows 2003 res.
kit. Fantastic backup/copy utility for typical data files.

How does robocopy handle these tranfers, is every jpg a new connection to my
servers, is there a possibillity that the system sees these transfers as
attacks, i mean when there are thousants of tranfers in a few hours, can my
file server handle these or do I have to config the register of my file
servers

Dear Jimi,

I'm not sure what you are doing. Can you describe what you are doing. Is
this a private or public network?

The modern Windows IP layer is fairly immune to SYN attacks these days.

Thanks,
