I have a downstairs PC with a BT voyager 2091 wireless router connected via
ethernet. My laptop is wifi certified and I can quite happily surf the net
without problems.

The problems is I cannot set up file sharing at all. i have done what I
know, which isnt a lot, but cannot get the computers to swap information. is
it possible for me to control the main pc from the laptop and swap files
etc?? or am I asking too much from this router.

i am a complete novice at this so go easy on me peeps ; )

thanks

Simon

I bet its your Firewalls...........you need to edit Firewall settings on
both comp so that they see each other.

If using Norton Internet Security go into NIS settings and put each
computers ISP address in as a Trusted zone.
