I don't think that DCC works that way. DCC is a client-server arrangement,
not a peer-to-peer network. I don't think that the client folders will be
accessible from the server. If I recall correctly, from a couple of years
back when I tried it, you only have access to the files on the server from
the client. Actually, I believe the terminology was "host", for server, and
"guest" for client.
If you need peer-to-peer networking, a pair of Ethernet cards shouldn't cost
much over $30 U.S. Some manufacturers even have two-computer starter kits
for under $75 U.S. that include everything you need; two Ethernet cards,
switch (or hub, but the switch is preferable!), and cable.
The only direct cable connection solutions I know of that don't use Ethernet
are more expensive; typically $100 U.S., and up, for the software, if you
get the special serial/parallel/USB cables included with the package.
LapLink and Symantec's PC Anywhere are typical.
