can you ping the server by name? If not, I would check the DNS status. Also make sure no firewall blocking the sharing.

I have just installed Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 on a test server
and run the Security Configuration Wizard. The server is configured as a file
server with a single share.
Since running the Security Configuration Wizard if I try and access the
share from an XP client I get a long delay and then a logon box which, when
filled in, still does not allow me access. If I try to access the share
locally from the sever I get the logon box immediately.
There is nothing in the event logs on the client. There are only
successful logons followed by successful logoffs repeatedly in the servers
event logs.
Any ideas as to what is causing this behaviour and how I resolve this
issue ?
Kind Regards
