File Shareing NOT Enabled

Hello,

Another question. I enabled file sharing in my computer as
well as in the broadband utility on my laptop. However,
when I open the broadband utility it says file sharing not
enabled.

Also, I still haven't gotten a response to an earlier
question so I'll try again. In the broadband utility I see
no other computers on the network. (Laptop running ME and
desktop runniing XP Pro).

Help is appreciated,
Allen

If you're not seeing other computers on your LAN, one of two primary things
is probably happening: (1) You're running a software firewall on those
computers and it hasn't been configured to allow LAN traffic, or (2) Each
machine is not part of the same Workgroup.

Not quite sure why, but the Wireless Networking Utility shows File and Print
Sharing not Enabled unless you actually have a share on a folder (or perhaps
a printer) on the computer running the Utility.

Try adding a Share on a folder and see if this changes.

It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
