Hi

We have without any problems used a Windows 2003 Std edition as File server
by sharing a set of directories. Now suddenly we have a strange problem
which causes file transfers to abort. When copying file > 50 mb the
following error ocures (after 40-50 mb):

Cannot copy <file name>: The spcified network name os no longer available.

The problem is pressent at all client machines (xp sp2). Clients can
transfer between each other with no problem. The MTU size on the server
seems to be ok and packages can go through the firewall.

If we use FTP the server has no problem. Printer sharing on the Server also
fails with large documents (problably same problem)

Suggestions anyone?

Regards
Anders Jacobsen

Greetings,

I would start out with the basics, make sure all your workstations and
server have the latest updates, check drivers, etc. This "was" a known
problem but was suppose to be fixed in Win XP SP2 and for servers, SP1.

Hope this helps,
