File/Printer sharing WORKED; added router and won't work

I am progressing thru Carey Holzman's hotfixes page on both computers for a
SECOND time.

Here is my situation. I have 2 ME computers. I had successfully networked
then using 2 Netgear PA301 phoneline adapters. I recently bought a new
router and substituted the Linksys HPRO200 router for the Netgear card on
the computer that had ICS. I removed ICS on the computer that was sharing
the internet connection. The Linksys folks told me to add Netbeui and
IPX/SPX as protocols, which I did. INTERNET SHARING works fine; it is the
FILE and PRINTER SHARING feature that refuses to work.

After locating Carey Holzman's hotfixes pages I donwloaded 272991 fix and
BINGO, everything seemed to work. When I booted up both computers the next
day, I was, unfortunately, back to NO SHARING at all.. I even got Microsoft
to send me the VREDIR fix, but that has not helped.

My results vary or have varied. At this point, NET VIEW shows only the
LOCAL computer on each system. At times along the way, I have seen both
computers in NET VIEW and also within the WORKGROUP, but, when I tried to
access/browse the remote computer in the Network icon, it was inaccessible.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

If you have everything connected everything should work.
However, in Windows ME, I have noticed a time lag. It
seems to stall. I would make sure you have TCP/IP
protocol and delete NetBeui and IPX/SPX. Make sure you
also have File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft under the
Client or Service. Then check the properties to ensure
that you have have mark everything for file and printer
sharing. Then you go to each computer and share the files
and printers you want.
