i have a group of files that appear corrupted (when the file is opened ther
are ascii blocks in the document instead of the text) on the server. both
the client and the server have virus scanners and are up to date wth patches
ect. this sound virus like to me although i can restore from tape and then a
few days later they are ccorrupt again?

any ideas?

Check the event logs as your first step.

the only error in the event log is the following..

Error: The Template Persistent Cache initialization failed for Application
Pool 'DefaultAppPool' because of the following error: Could not create a Disk
Cache Sub-directory for the Application Pool. The data may have additional
error codes..

what does this mean? would this be causing the file corruption?
