File and Print Sharing

I've been reading the threads on this problem and still have not found a
solution for mine. I have a desktop running Win XP Home (not SP2) with a
wireless router. File and print sharing has been enabled. I also have a
laptop running Win XP Home (SP2) with a wireless card. My desktop can "see"
the laptop on the network and even transfer files to it. However, the laptop
cannot "see" the desktop. When I try to access the network it gives me an
error "Network not accessible. See administrator....; semaphore timed
out...". I'm able to ping the laptop, but the laptop is not able to ping the
desktop. I'm using Cox Security Suite, but I'm not running the firewall
utility on it on either computer. I've also disabled the Firewall on both
computers, but still have not been able to resolve the problem. Any other
ideas? This was working OK a couple of weeks ago.

Are the passwords on the administrators accounts the same on each machine,
you may want to try that to see if it helps.

Try disabling the inbuilt wireless adpater in system/properties so that it does not conflict with your wireless card.

And you must turn on file and printer sharing in the computer/folder options.
