Not exactly a networking question (but it does serve data :^), but
how do I add a mount to /etc/fstab? The file has this warning
about not editing by hand, blah, blah, blah. The man pages for the
command mentioned doesn't help at all (fstab-sync) and something
about HAL events. I just want to add a permanent mount.

Thx, Chris

Start your favorite text editor and add the line to the file.

No, it says: "# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync'
for details". It doesn't say "This file is *only* edited by
fstab-sync .." or in any other way warn against manual modifications.
The man page for fstab-sync doesn't contain any warnings about editing
by hand either.

The proper man page to read is "man 5 fstab".

.... [concerning quotation marks] even if we *___did* quote anybody in this
business, it probably would be gibberish.
