I suspect that the tg3 driver that comes with the latest Fedora Core 5
kernel (kernel-smp-2.6.17-1.2187_FC5 or 2174) is dropping packets.
lspci identifies the hardware as

Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 01)

Anyone out there have experience (good or bad) with this combination?

I use the 2174 kernel with the tg3 module for a BCM5705.
I haven't noticed any bad things.

I had the 2187 kernel flake out on me on other machines, so I've decided
not to trust it for anything where it wasn't already installed without
incident.
