Fedora C3 to IRIX NFS Problem

A Fedora core 3 workstation has a hard time mounting NSF directories exported
by IRIX 6.5.26 hosts. The same FC3 machine can happily mount directories from
Linux 2.4.x and AIX 5.2 based systems. What should I change in the Fedora /
IRIX sides to make the mounts effective?

thanks!
Michael

The phrase "has a hard time" is a really poor description of the
problem. Does it work at all? Do you get errors? What errors?

The IRIX servers reject the request to serve the exported directories to the
FC 3 workstation, with a message 'Permission denied by server'. It could mount
from AIX 5.2 and Linux 2.4 based systems without a problem.

The 'rpcinfo -p HOST' was showing all RPC services in place for all hosts,
including the IRIX ones. Directories are exported and mounted fine accross all
types of systems (IRIX 6.5.2x, Solaris 10, AIX 5.2, Linux 2.4) except TO the
FC3.

It is a matter of someone using IRIX having encountered this specific issue.

RedHat's nfs server sometimes creates invalid state files that other
systems don't recognize. Stop the FC3 nfs service, delete
/var/lib/nfs/*mtab, and restart nfs. Works here with FC1 and IRIX-6.2
anyway.
