Fealnx timeout and b/w shaping

Hi,

I've a Surecom card which I use with the fealnx driver in my 2.6.8.1 kernel.
It works fine, except that during high-speed bursts, the interface stops
sending data with the following lines in my dmesg,

eth0: Transmit timed out, status 00000000, resetting...
Rx ring df33f000: 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000 80000000
Tx ring df8db000: 80000000 80000000 80000000 0000 80000000 80000000

It comes back up by itself, but this is till a problem. Does someone else know
of a solution to this.

I was alternatively planning to do some bandwith shaping to make sure that
high speed bursts don't happen. Could someone tell my how I could use tc to
add a rule so that, all outgoing traffic was limited to say 8mbps on eth0.

Thanks.
