I have just come across a free Fax2Email service

http://www.islandhost.net/ngns/ngn_index.php

Plus other numbers

My question is do I need a broadband service to use this?

Surely FAX 2Email means just that

Someone sends a fax to your islandhost number.
Islandhost send it as an Email to your email address
You do not need broadband to get your emails & converted faxes in you mail
inbox....

That's how it works. Fax arrives as a .tif file attached to an email.
Works for me.

Sorry understand the systems but I am thinking about the size of files,
especially if I am on the move and using dial up in hotel etc.

The same company has supplied me with an 0808 24/7 that is not fixed to one
CLI so I can use it any where but I dont want to wait hours for heavy files
that come in via email2fax if they are big so would that be a problem.

Thanks

That's really very efficient!

Except if the faxes are those heavy on the graphics Spam Fax (SPAX? is that
the right thing to call it?) but then with an 0870/0871 I doubt they would
send them.

So if I register my normal fax number with the FPS and give my Fax2Email out
not only do I get my faxes where ever I am but I no longer get SPAX.

Plus I have worked out that with a group forwarding email address as the
Fax2Email route I can have faxes sent to groups of people.

Any other ideas on other ways these can be used any one?

I'm happy
