Failure to connect

I have a broadband cable modem connection that works with
my Windows 98 desktop PC but when I disconnect my desktop
and connect my Windows XP laptop, I get a failure to
connect message. What must I do to get my laptop to work
on the existing cable modem? Help!

You should post to the microsoft.public.windows.network_web newsgroup for
general networking questions. This newsgroup supports Microsoft's Broadband
Networking hardware and software. You also might look in Help and Support
on your laptop. Just do a Search for "Internet" and you'll see helpful
subjects including "connection types."
