'Evening.

Does anyone know if BT keep a record of the areas that have failed line
tests but are within 6km range?

I'm wondering whether one day they may look into this and see if they can
upgrade the lines for ADSL quality or sort any little problems that are
causing the lines to fail.

The reason I ask is where I live (just over 3km in line length) me and my
neighbours can't get ADSL and so we hope BT may look into why the fail. Or
maybe they do not care?

Thanks

Under no circumstances, rely on BT.

Try applying every three months or so, that¹s the only way to be sure.

Unless you can arrange for a JCB to accidentally dig up the cable to your
area, in which case they would probably put it right. If its aluminium
cable, you're probably screwed good and proper as they won't fix it as it
isn't broke as far as they are concerned.

Get the Water Board (or Gas Board for that matter) to renew all their
pipeline. The Water Board, especially, seem to take great pleasure in
thrust boring through underground cables (the Gas Board contractors
just dig thru them). It's one of the reasons I know I can now get
DSL....
