factory defaults login fails after reset!!!

my wgt624 v2 cannot be accessed. I can get to the login,
but it fails the defaults.. admin and password. I tried a long
power-down 20 minutes, and reset, but it will not let me in.
It still works, but is unsecured.
Is it fried???

Powering down the router is not going to reset the router to default.

There is a small reset button on the back. Press and hold while pwring
the router and then try. That should bring it back to default.
