factors affecting DHCP performance ?

Hi:

I noticed that DHCP renew (ipconfig /renew) takes quite different time on
different machines. What are the factors affecting the DHCP performance on a
machine (XP or Win2K) ? Any articles on this?

autonegotiation problems. You can go into the properties for the
drivers and nail them to the 100/100/FD/HD settings you think yo show
be able to use. If you then have netowrk problems you've probably got
a wiring problem.


I've experinced "known" autonegotiation problems between a major brand
PCMICA 10/100 enet card and a current model Major Brand enterprise
switch. The solution according to the tech notes was to mail the
interfaces at both ends.
