Subject: Facebook: tell Phorm to Eph Off and leave my Facebook data alone

We're going to formally approach Facebook and other websites to block
Phorm via the group "Facebook: tell Phorm to Eph Off and leave my
Facebook data alone"

To do this we need to get membership numbers of the group to 1,000+.

We need to show that companies like Facebook must give the maximum
practical protection to our personal data.

So please join the group if you have not already - visit the group page
and push the 'share' link - post the group's link to your news feed and
profile and ask your friends to join!

I thought Facebook's business model had a lot of similarities with
Phorm's. They are both about targetting advertising based on gleaning
information about your interests. As I understand it, in the facebook
case, the premise is that your friends have similar interests to you, so
by telling facebook about your purchases, you are telling them what your
friends might want to purchase.

In that case, surely it would be silly of Facebook to not prevent third
parties like phorm from cashing in on all the valuable data they've
collected instead of them!
