nI am trying to install a linksys range extender model wre54g.
I have the firewall disconnected
Unplugged my cordless phones.
The range extender automatically sets up
I see the Ip address of the router
I get a excellent signal
Then then the Ip address chages to 169.254.76.90
Then I get NO SIgnal

Are you trying to have it connect via wired or wireless to the MN-500?

That will never work. You would have to run a wire to it.
