I am posting this hoping that it helps someone else. I fought two
problems for some time and was finally able to correct both; perhaps
the results will be repeatable. I have seem numerous post on both, but
not these solutions.

This is on a Dell Inspiron 5000 with 98SE and all the latest patches.

I have a Linksys WPC54G PC Wireless card. While chasing problem two, I
made the mistake of uninstalling the Linksys from the Control Panel /
Add-Remove Programs. This left behind registry information that
prevented a reinstallation. Attempting a Linksys re-installation
caused an error that read to the effect, "Linksys Monitor and drivers
already installed. If you wish to uninstall them, use the Uninstall
Program", which of course was already deleted. Several emails to
Linksys support later, they provided a Linksys Registry Cleaner program
which did the job nicely.

The original problem was a "Explorer experienced an exception c06d007eH
in
module sens.dll at 016f:6010857f"error when a dialer DUN connected,
causing Windows Explorer to cycle, and many of the icons in the SysTray
to disappear. I went through the usual MTX virus and WSOCK32 paces
that many posts, and M-soft suggest to no avail. On several
occassions, I had received an info box that advised what I was doing
would replace IPHLPAPI.DLL with an older version; of course I kept the
newer one. Finally, on a hunch, I made a back-up copy of the file, and
used SFC to restore an earlier file version. The early file is dated
4/23/99, version 5.00.17172, 32 kb; the later file I replaced was
version 5.00.2173.2, 68kb. This SEEMS to have fixed the Explorer
problem. It did produce a problem with Netzero crashing after the
first connection, but after I did a Netzero uninstall and reintall,
that seems happy too.

With fingers crossed, I hope this helps. I accept no responsibility
for your results, and your mileage may vary.
