I have a question i am hoping someone can help me with regarding my wireless
network.

I have my cable modem connected to a dlink wireless router. I have 2 wired
clients and one wireless pc in adjacent room. I also have a "lab" made up of
3 old pc's networked thru a 8 port 10/100 Netgear switch. This lab currently
does not have an internet connection

What I want to do is connect an Access Point to the 10/100 switch and
associate it (SSID) with my dlink wireless router. Would I be able to join my
"lab" clients to my network that has access to the internet?

I know this is in theory "backwards" to what most AP's are used for. I am
trying to connect a wired network to a wireless network.

Any1 have any thoughts or similar experiences?

which dlink router? they have specific access points that can be run
in a mode that will let you connect your wired lab computers through a
switch to the AP that will bridge the networks and give you access.

I'm pretty sure that the D-Link 2100 AP
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=292 - I don't have a 524 - I know
it works with aq 624.
