I have a new Dell PowerEdge 2950 running Storage Servere 2003 R2 x86-64.
Shortly after being put into production in late July we have been getting
Warning messages with Event ID 2012 from SRV. The message is always the
same:
"While transmitting or receiving data, the server encountered a network
error. Occassional errors are expected, but large amounts of these indicate
a possible error in your network configuration. The error status code is
contained within the returned data (formatted as Words) and may point you
towards the problem."
At first the warnings were rare (a few times a day) but as load has
increased so have the warnings to where we are getting them in bursts at
several points of the day.

I can't find anything on this error since NT4 days. Any pointers on this?

I would check the NIC first. This search result may help,

Event ID Troubleshooting Event ID 2012 - The server has encountered a network error; Event ID 2012 - SMTP could not connect to the DNS server 'xx.xxx.xx.xxx'. ...
