We have a 2003 (STD) sp2 AD, One PC (XP Pro SP2) out of 30 can log into the
network but cannot browse the network or access the internet via IE7.
Applications event ID's 1030 and 1058 on the XP Box. The other 29 do not
seem to have a problem.

I ran ipconfig /all on the XP box and the dns is pointing at the server IP.
All other numbers look good.

I have removed the PC from the network and rejoined with a different name
with the same results.

I can ping the server and other web sites from a cmd prompt. All other PC's
in the domain have no trouble at all. Anyone had something like this on just
one PC?

Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank!

Is the NIC, on the problem PC, on-board? Have you tried to change the NIC?

best regards,
Yuri

It could be some security software or spyware. These search results may help
too.

You can ping any web sites but not access themYou can ping any web sites but
not access them. 2. You can download Anti-virus definition. 3. The internet
email works fine. 4. 2. From the server I can ...

ping public IPs but not web sites Can't access the internet after cleaning

Updated Condition, I installed 2003 Server SP2 on servers (2) now both
servers cannot access the internet and none of the client PC's can browse
the network or access the internet.
I rechecked ipconfig /all on both client and servers and the numbers are as
they should be.
I cannot ping from the client PCs to either the server or website. Very
Strange. Anyone else experienced post SP2 server problems? Any hotfixes for
this?

It could be DNS issue. Any errors if using nslookup.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the response,

I am going to contact MS support this morning . I believe it is a issue with
the SP2 Install on the servers. I will post back with the results later
today.

Well, it turned out that SP2 blewout the tcp/ip stack on the server network
card. MS was very helpful with this. The strange thing was when viewing the
status of the card it show activity both receiving and sending.
