every 5 seconds our server is logging event ID 1008, Source: Perflib:
The Open Procedure for service "PSched" in DLL
"C:\WINNT\system32\pschdprf.dll" failed. Performance data for this service
will not be available. Status code returned is data DWORD 0.

I looked up various KB articles and checked the services registry key -
under this key the Performance key is visible but reports: "Cannot open
Performance: Error whilst opening key".

The description for the services is QoS Packet Scheduler but there are no
QoS services installed. Could this be from a failed install/uninstall of QoS
? Or are there any other issues, and, preferably fixes for this problem

Hello there,

I found that wesite / explanation the other day, the problem is, the
Performance subkey is there but I can't access it / open it to remove the
'open' value, I get an error when I try and do that. I've tried
re-installing latest SP since original post but we still get the error

What sort of error? Permissions error possibly? Maybe try backing the reg up
first, then just delete the whole QoS folder under Services?
