Ethernet Hot Connect/Disconnect ?

I am thinking about buying my first laptop computer,
and sometimes taking it to work with me.

Does Ethernet 10/100 allow RJ-45 connections
and disconnections while the network is active ?

Yes. But when you reconnect to a different network, you may need to run
winipcfg to Release All/Renew All. Otherwise, it might take some time for it
to automatically detect its new address.
