ethernet hardware

Trying to install networking.

Hard ware went in fine.

Soft ware requested windows 98 cd.

Put it in and gave multiple prompts about certain files
missing.

For example

dhcpcsvc.dll

or

ipcfgdll. dll

and so on

what does that mean?

It means that Windows is trying to install all the networking components to
allow you to take advantage of the ethernet card you installed.

If some of the files were not on your Win98 CD, maybe that's not the same
CD you used to install Win98 on that computer??
