crossthrough cables are only for attaching one computer
directly to another. You need straigh through cables.

Then you connect your modem to say port 1 (or whatever
one the manual says) and then all the systems(computers)
to the other available ports on the router.

Modem <-----> Router Port 1
Router Port 2 <----> Computer 1
Router Port 3 <----> Computer 2
Router Port 4 <----> Computer 3
Router Port 5 <----> Computer 4

Should work fine after that. You may need to do some set-
up in the router (should just be the "getting started"
type settings in the manual)

And you may have to open "Internet Explorer" and
click "Tools" then "Internet Options" then
the "Connections" tab and click "Set-up" and go through
the wizard.

I hope this helps.

Rob.
