Hi All,
Don't know why but my windows 2003 server is
giving me the following error when i am trying to connect
it through remote desktop connection, it was working fine
upto now.
"The Remote session was disconnected because there are no
Terminal Server License Server available to provide a
license."
Should i uninstall and re-install the terminal
services from the server?

Thanx in advance

Hi,

are you using Terminal Services for administration only (maximum of 2
concurrent connections) or do you need more then 2? If you need only two
uninstall Terminal Services from the server and just turn on Remote Desktop
(right click on My Computer > properties > Remote > Check where it says
"Allow users to connect remotely to this computer"...

If you need more then 2 then you will have to buy more licenses form
Microsoft. When you install Terminal Services for more then 2 users you get
90 days of free licenses (registration period) and after 90 days it will
stop working...

thanx Mike,
what i am trying is to make remote desktop
connection from another PC(winXP) which i am not able to
do and when i try connecting the server from the server
itself it gives me the same error. Also when i tried
terminal server licensing console from admin tools, it is
not able to connect to the server.

I still don't know from your reply do you need more then 2 users connecting
to the server using remote desktop at one time or not?

If not remove Terminal services by going to Control panel > Add/Remove
programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Scroll down to Terminal
Services...

Terminal services license server _must_ be installed on domain controller.
