Error Msg in Device Manager for WLAN PCI Adapter

After installing the software and the wireless LAN card
there is a yellow dot with an exclamation mark on the
WLAN adapter, and an error msg that is as follows:

The NDIS.VXD, NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this
device could not load the device driver. (code 2)

I have tried re-installing the drivers & I have also
tried putting the WLAN Adapter in a different PCI slot.

Any help would be appreciated.
