error messages

I use the general user telent login to the linux server , but sometimes
there are some error messages will pop to my screen , and I also found
these messages in /var/log/messages , how can I disable these messages
pop to my screen ? thx

Better would be to find out what is causing them, and fix whatever is
wrong...
